Summit Trailers began in 1970, initially operating out of a 25,000 square-foot facility and focusing on manufacturing dump trailers. The company was founded under the vision and leadership of Charles Pishock Sr., who has dedicated his life to the trailer manufacturing industry, progressing through various roles including welder, designer, salesman, and president. In 2001, leadership transitioned from Charles Sr. to his son, Charles Pishock Jr., who had grown up in the business and shared his father's deep understanding and passion for trailer manufacturing. Known as Chuck, he has maintained the core principles instilled by his father while integrating his own innovative ideas for the future of Summit Trailers.
